The first day of the conference brought welcoming lectures from Abbot Bruno Hubl of
Stift Admont and Prof. Alison Beach, the organizer of the conference. Dr. Johann Tomaschek, the librarian
and archivist at Stift Admont then spoke on the historiographical interests of Admont as reflected in
the library's manuscripts. Musical interludes were provided by Musicae Puellae Admontenses.
The opening reception was followed by a buffet dinner where the conference
participants began to meet one another and exchange ideas.
